Foster & Coleman recently acted for a young client during a pre-arranged voluntary interview at Southampton Police Station. The allegation was one of Causing Grievous Bodily Harm to a fellow passenger on board a cruise liner. After advising our client in interview, we were able to subsequently provide additional evidence to the investigating officer which raised considerable doubts about the account given by the complainant. After a number of weeks, the officer provided notification that police will be taking no further action.
Our client and his family were hugely relieved and provided the following wonderful feedback:
‘My son had an allegation of GBH against him which completely hit us like a tonne of bricks. He is only 16 years old and in the middle of his A Levels. Although we knew the victim was trying to extort as much money as he could from us and taking a ‘caution’ seemed the easy way out, Steve Foster took the time to calm our nerves, talk through all the evidence and reassured us that we had an extremely good case.
Only a matter of days later Steve travelled to Southampton to support us on a Bank Holiday and took control of what was a terrifying experience whilst my son was interviewed by the police.
Thankfully by taking all Steve’s advice our case was later dropped.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Steve should anyone ever need a solicitor. Without him we would have been lead down the wrong path which would have affected my son’s entire future.’
