"Steve Foster was my appointed contact but access to other resources, most notably Paul Coleman, was freely available when required. Their ability to grasp what was a detailed case in such a short space of time and yet control it in a determined, focused and ultimately successful fashion was extremely impressive. Their input also proved invaluable to appointed counsel as Steve and team were able to lead the direction of the whole defence strategy, including three other similar co-defendants, throughout. Steve and Paul, in marked contrast to previous appointees, provided very welcome and invaluable support and updates to close family members who were unaccustomed to the court process. All in all, the whole experience was a huge comfort and positive influence in what were very difficult circumstances and I would not hesitate in recommending them to anybody needing this kind of representation."

"Having been accused of a very serious allegation, I was advised to get legal representation sooner rather than later. I have to say that it was great advice. After my initial meeting with Steve Foster, I felt very comfortable and confident with him. Although at that stage it wasn’t clear as to what would happen next, Steve was very supportive and answered the numerous questions I had. I have to say that nothing was too much trouble for Steve. He always remained very professional, very supportive and he even took calls from me at the weekend in order to help me understand what was happening. He dealt with my concerns and reassured me every step of the way.
As the allegation and proceedings developed, Paul Coleman became part of the team. Both Steve and Paul encouraged me to involve my wife in our meetings. This not only provided me with support at home, but also helped her to understand what was happening and also what was likely to happen. Both Steve and Paul provided us both great support throughout. Until this all happened we had never had any involvement with the Police or the law courts. It made it all so much easier having them both available during the attendances at both the police station and courts and they both took the time to make sure we were both comfortable with the surroundings and fully understanding of what was going on.
Due to the hard work of Steve, Paul and my barrister, justice was served and I was acquitted after the judge dismissed the case against me at the end of the prosecution’s case. I truly feel that, had they not all been as professional and understanding of the case facts and the law as they were, things may have ended differently.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Steve and Paul. They made what was a very upsetting and stressful time for my wife and I as smooth as it could be, offering professional advice and support throughout. They have continued to offer me support and assistance post trial."

"We were very lucky to have a family member who investigated into things a little for us and put us in touch with Steve Foster. This turned out to be a true blessing. From the start Steve was very straight and honest with us about every aspect of our case. He worked quickly to secure us a top QC. There were no lies, no hidden costs, everything was straight, and we all knew were we stood. We went to trial in January with Steve and his colleague Paul Coleman only getting my husband’s information weeks before and we couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. The team were absolutely amazing and we couldn’t recommend them enough. They have been such a support for me, keeping me in the loop right the way through the process. They were always at the end of the phone if I ever needed them. It has taught us a valuable lesson that you get what you pay for. We were not ripped off, which I feel would have happened if the other company would have been charging us and everything with Steve and Paul was just honest and upright. I cannot again recommend them highly enough, we were very lucky to have them in our corner."

"Dear Steve,
I believe that you have saved my life. I became suicidal when my world fell apart in December 2017. I lost my children, my home , my husband, my job and potentially my career. I had been given inept advice from another lawyer, who had allowed me to plead guilty to a crime I did not commit. At my wit’s end, in the below freezing temperatures of December 2017, and homeless, I was given your number by a friend who is a family lawyer and who had heard outstanding reports of your excellent track record from a mutual colleague.
It was evening, yet you returned my call immediately and arranged to meet me the very next morning. You and I worked together for months. You listened to every detail I had to say, never hurrying me, and always paying complete attention. When we first met in your offices in London that December morning, I collapsed emotionally and spent much of our consultation in tears as I shared with you the enormity of what had happened to me. You remained professional throughout, and somehow managed to balance my need to be heard emotionally, as well as my need for concrete advice. Not once did I feel pressured into appointing you. What I felt was listened to, believed, and above all, given hope. You responded either immediately, or very quickly, whenever I contacted you. It felt as though I was your only client, and you were prioritising me. You also maintained a respectful attitude towards the person who had made criminal allegations against me. You sustained a keen awareness of my children’s needs throughout the whole process, despite never actually meeting any of them.
Every time I contacted you with a concern in relation to my case, you were always able to reassure me. You were diligent in all aspects of my case, leaving “no stone unturned” – e.g. diplomatically helping me to choose an outfit for my first ever attendance in court, as well as sending me a full profile of my barristers, and being holistically minded enough to prioritise a criminal act, (which I sent you by video, thinking it may help my case) – over my case. By doing so, you affirmed in me, the absolute belief that you are entirely focussed on justice – less about winning cases, and far more to do with ensuring justice gets as much opportunity as possible, to prevail."

"It was a great weight off my shoulders to appoint Steve to represent me in my police interview under caution. He met up with me a few days before to discuss my case, and I instantly felt at ease with his open manner and professional way he got on with discussing the case in a non-judgmental way. Steve guided me through the possible options and outcomes and how the process of the law works. I became quickly aware an interview is far too an important event not to get right, with many possible pitfalls. Having Steve by my side I felt I had a massive pillar of positive support, representing my interests in an alien environment of a police interview. He was steady and supportive, his experience shone through at every stage.
Thanks Steve"

"For the first time in my life I needed legal advice and representation in relation to an incredibly serious and false allegation which was made against me by a serving police officer. I think it would be fair to say that I was misdirected by my original solicitors and was quickly recommended to contact Steve Foster. Within a number of hours of the initial phone call I had received a call from Steve. As soon as I spoke to him I already felt more confident with the support and assistance, even though it was not even agreed at this point. The following Monday I met Steve to discuss the potential case and he listened to everything I had to say. From this point I really hoped that he was going to accept this case and defend me, as I could clearly tell he had a lot of experience with a wide range of cases over the years. I left this meeting feeling much more positive and comfortable with the outcome and in a better position knowing I could potentially have Steve supporting me. He showed how proactive he was with his clients (me in this case) from the start with, very quick responses to emails with a number of question I had at any day or time of the week. Steve always asked for my opinion and thoughts before ever giving his advice, which I feel was very important as it made me feel that I had a choice in the decisions that had to be made. In the lead up to my trial I had a number of questions and concerns which would be normal for anyone in my position, but Steve was always very calm and collective and made me feel at ease during this stressful period. The positivity that Steve brought was exceptional and the detailed preparation he had carried out, together with the advocacy from my barrister during the trial was outstanding. The extremely hard work they had both put in over the months leading up to this trial eventually paid off and I was acquitted by the jury within 20minutes. During all of the above Steve’s level of interaction was perfect. Despite having lots of other cases to deal with, he still managed make me feel that mine was the only one. He showed high levels of professionalism throughout and was always available for assistance. I hope that I am not in this situation again but if I was to ever need any legal representation I wouldn’t think twice about contacting Steve and he would be the first person I would recommend to others in need of similar representation."
– Stuart
"'We were so grateful to have Steve’s help with our case. I don’t know what we would have done without him. He was incredibly responsive, reassuring and thoughtful. He inspired complete confidence in his strategy, and he got us a quick and positive outcome. At such a difficult time it was a huge relief to have him in our corner.'"

"Dear Mr Steve Foster ( Steve )
I am writing to say how very pleased I am with the excellent legal services that you just now have provided in my court case (December 2020).
Your fees are very reasonable, and you did Zoom interviews which worked perfectly. A one-to-one personal relationship was given, which meant not having to go through others or waiting for someone to give you a message to reply back. Contact via telephone and email was quickly responded to.
You gave genuine (and correct) assessments of the case and did not promise the earth.
Appropriate reassurance was provided at critical moments as deadlines approached, reducing levels of anxiety and stress greatly, which was much appreciated.
You always gave the feeling that Foster & Coleman were always in control and genuinely looking out for me, and aware of opposing strategies ahead of time. Your choice of Barrister was immaculate, a real professional who knows his craft.
Finally, a great result!
You have been amazing and I hope this feedback helps other people. Well done and a big thank you to you, and to Foster & Coleman. You have class Steve, and it was a pleasure to have had your midfield guidance!
Best Wishes"

""Professional, empathetic, reassuring, reliable, practical, witty. To mention just a few of the adjectives I would use to describe how Mr Foster – Steve – has dealt with my case or, more precisely, with me – and my partner – throughout the long journey in which the juridical system brought us together.
Steve took over my case in the beginning of 2020, at which point I had already been in a limbo for more than two years since the event in relation with which I needed legal defence happened. We were at the start of the COVID pandemic, which then largely contributed to endless delays on the prosecution’s side and led to my court trial being rescheduled at the last moment several times. Not only did Steve take over my case from my previous legal team in the most seamless way (with whom the sharp contrast in terms of professionalism and reliability couldn’t have been more evident), he accompanied me in a most calming and reassuring way all through the rollercoaster not least characterised by an ingrained and careless attitude of the CPS, and also included my partner in what became much more than just legal support. Whilst I was his sole client, Steve showed care for both of us at every step of the way, and he was always there when we were in need for some emotional support – which we really did ever so often.
What I also appreciated very much in our relationship with Steve is that he never gave us false expectations. He patiently responded to all my questions about eventual scenarios and ramifications, and was also there to help me on the frustratingly long journey of “mopping up” after my unanimous acquittal at trial, including dealing in the most professional way with the police (who had lost my property and kept surprising us with examples of incompetence and carelessness), as well as the DBS and the Home Office – all with success.
Steve, accompanied by my brilliant barrister, also did an excellent job in efficiently communicating with my regulatory body, whom I had to inform about the events that led to me being charged, even though they were unrelated to my job. As they could have pursued an investigation independently of the criminal case, regardless of my acquittal at court, winning this battle (i.e., getting them to decide that there was no need for any further investigation) was just as important as that of the criminal case. It took another year, but we finally got there.
Becoming Steve’s client and, if I may, eventually his friend, has been one of the very few positive things this four-and-a-half-year-long story has brought to me. I have already recommended him to friends in need of legal support and will happily continue to do so in the future""

"You did absolutely everything possible to save my career, and you succeeded. My thanks are priceless."

"I came to foster and Coleman for help after I was put in a comprising situation by one of my friends that was completely out of my control. I explained this to Paul Coleman and from the outset he offered me invaluable advice and helped me to stay calm in a situation which, for me, seemed to be spiralling out of control and I can’t thank him enough for this. The unfortunate situation got back to my superiors and despite my explanations of how the situation was out of my control, they took me to a disciplinary meeting alleging that I broke regulations. Paul went through all the evidence with me and he organised a brilliant 20 page document consisting of my events, character witnesses, eyewitness and also a section explaining how I hadn’t breached any of the regulations. The file worked wonders and turned a situation that was dire into a minuscule punishment which seemingly will have no impact on my career. I cannot thank the services of Paul and Foster and Coleman enough and will definitely be utilising their services again if I have to. As well as this, I would, without a doubt, recommend the services of Foster and Coleman to anybody who encounters problems they may have and require legal advice. I cannot only thank Paul for his services, that no doubt saved my career, but also the advice and help he offered me at the beginning when all looked so bleak!"

"Hi Steve. I just wanted to say thank you for the outstanding help and advice I received from you during a very distressing episode. It was very apparent that not only did you handle my case with the utmost professionalism it was also very reassuring to me that you treated me as an individual and not just another client. I truly believe the work carried on by yourself and your colleagues had a significant positive bearing on the outcome of my case.I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend your services to anyone in a similar situation to myself."
– Liz
"Hi Steve. I just wanted to say a massive thank you to you and your team and to Ed Duncan Smith who represented me in court for speeding, going over on totting up and potentially facing a 6 month ban. He successfully put forward a case for exceptional hardship, therefore keeping me on the road.
It was an easy process dealing with yourself and Ed and thank you for taking calls on a Saturday and Sunday to put together the statements, which because of my busy work schedule made life much easier. Also, your excellent advice on putting the case together and to Ed for his incredibly easy to get on with manner, quick understanding of the case and well positioned argument in court. I am very grateful for your help and support and would never have any hesitation in recommending your services to any friends or relatives.
Happy Xmas and a prosperous New Year to you Ed and your families. Thank you."

"The service that Paul and Steve provided me with was second to none! Very understanding and professional in the manner they acted for me outside, and inside of court. Extremely efficient, thorough before trial which helped massively in the court room and, ultimately on the outcome. I would highly recommend anyone to use them. Thank you!"
– Victor

– Mark and Susan
"Thank you for supporting us through this whole episode. Your words of encouragement when things were really difficult have helped enormously. I feel that it is mainly thanks to you, the way you approached this case, that we have a very positive outcome, as compared to what could have been."

"Sometimes in life we can find ourselves in situations that we never thought possible and subsequently in need of legal advice and representation. Over the last year, Steve Foster has helped, advised and supported me through a very difficult time. He chose counsel to represent me and together we discussed and meticulously went through the case. The outcome was better than I had expected and that was due to Steve’s ability to get all of the information and correlate it perfectly. The barrister he chose was also perfect for my case. I would like to say a big thank you."
– Steve
"Hello Paul,
Thank you for your reassuring conversation today, thank you again for your hard work and determination. Our lives have changed in the last 6 years in ways we never imagined but people like you and Julian are a godsend. You do not feel like a solicitor more like a good friend. When we get where we are going it would be nice to meet up so that we can thank you properly. Once again thank you for your dedicated work and reassurance."
– David
"Many thanks and appreciation to all, especially Paul Coleman who worked tirelessly to represent me and my family and went above and beyond to get the best result possible within our circumstances. These last few years have been the most testing of our lives but we could not have had better support, understanding and service from anyone else. Many, many thanks and appreciation"
– Andy & Lisa
"Dear Paul, Just a quick note to thank you for all the hard work and effort you put into the preparation for this hearing. Without your dedication and commitment, the clients would very likely have faced a much less positive outcome. Looking forward to continuing our work on this. All the best."
– Nik

"'Sometimes in life we can find ourselves in situations that we never thought possible. I had literally lost everything, my children who I am a single mom too, one being only 8 months old (and vulnerable) at the time, my family, my home and almost my job potentially ending my career and ability to support my children on my own. I felt as though I had nothing left to live for and when I looked around for support there was literally not one soul. I had to find the strength to start the biggest fight of my life and knew it was by no means going to be easy. I was as prepared as I could be for ‘tough’, I was prepared for ‘brutal’, I was prepared for ‘exhausting’, I was prepared for ‘accountability for my part’, I was pretty much prepared for it all as I was literally fighting for my life in more ways than one but not for one second did I think the fight would be what it then became in a court of law.
I had a fantastic family law solicitor who had become the only person in the entire world that was fighting for my children and I. That team then grew by one and included my unbelievable barrister who honestly went to war for me.
As proceedings were taking place the massive organisation who had made this case against me and had “lied and cheated” which were the words that came straight out of the judge’s mouth did everything in their power to delay our case moving forward which resulted in the most detrimental thing to ever happen to a mother or child becoming a reality. This organisation used every sideways trick in the book to continue separation between my children and I. There were only meant to be 1 or 2 hearings before we were reunited and through their foul play and underhanded tactics we ended up having to go through approximately 8 hearings before we were united again. It was the most sickening thing I have ever experienced in my life. The case in the family court nearly destroyed me in every way possible. I had been accused of the most horrendous untrue things and was fighting an organisation with the ‘biggest and the best’ lawyers in the country trying to prove I was not guilty of these heinous accusations all while my civil rights were being violated and my 8 month old baby had her mother, the only parent that she has disappear for almost 2 months not to mention the implications for my son as well.
My barrister strongly advised we take this organisation to court in a civil suite once the family court matter was resolved which it later was. The evidence did not lie and finally showed the truth which I had been telling all along. After the ordeal my children and I had been through even the judge apologised to me for the wrongdoings that had taken place, she was fuming with this organisation, she reprimanded them in almost every one of our hearings, this organisation along with another with whom they work very closely who were equally responsible for the separation of my children and I and for so long had to formally apologise to me and I was assured that internal action would take place. The judge wished my children and I the best. In our future together and that was the end of the family matter.
It was then time to hold this organisation accountable and get justice for my children and I along with all the other parents and children that had been affected the way we were. This had become bigger than just my children and I now so on a strong recommendation from my barrister he told me about Paul Coleman from Foster and Coleman and said to me “he is the best, you do not get better”. My barrister had a literal front row seat to what I went through and it was tough for him, these lawyers had become like family to me so the fact that my barrister trusted Paul to fight for my children and I and something that had become such an important cause to fight for, I knew he had to be something special. Making that call and speaking to Paul for the 1st time, I immediately knew he was the man for the job. Paul was kind, caring, had so much empathy for my situation and wanted more than anything to help me once he had heard what my children and I had gone through. Paul saw how wrong it was and made it his mission to hold this organisation accountable for their blatant disregard of the law, justice system and my rights. Paul made me feel safe, he listened even when it was me just needing someone there through one of my emotional breakdowns and panic. Paul was always available for me when I needed him and felt like with him by my side we would get the justice that was so deserved and show these big organisations that ‘bully’ us smaller humans that they would not get away with it. Paul fought hard and got the result that we deserved and for that I can never thank him enough. My drive was never driven by figures, it was to show these places that you cannot just treat people this way and if I could help just one other parent and child out there not to have to go through what my children and I did then I would have paid it forward in the best possible way. Paul and I were successful in our suit so for me being 2 for 2 with my children home and safe I literally felt like I had won the lottery. I owe these solicitors everything, they honestly saved my life and gave my children their mother back.
I would highly recommend Paul Coleman from Foster and Coleman Solicitors to anyone and everyone in need of legal representation.'"
